added two articles : one on linear workflow, and another on vray for maya. check them out.

excellent articles both! one thing i want to point out from the lwf article is the screenshot of vray-s colormapping rollout, where it currently has the type set to exponential – does this in anyway affects the linearity of the final render – i have been using the linear multiply option till now.
the second article gives great comparison also on the render settings. i genereally like to control the noise quality exactly the same way although i tend to set the threshold to 0.001 and just play with the max subdivs – i guess it makes the same result in the end.
i especially enjoyed the neat trick of using the vraydirt texture inverted, i guess this way you can just gain down the ao from your final image in post and you can avoid multiplying which isnt really good on the premultiplied image in the first place?
anyway im really excited to see this site come to life again and looking forward for more excellent info as you can always provide!

i normally leave things at linear as well so it’s good practice to do that.
thanks for the compliments. hopefully i will be able to continue to provide good insight, etc. cheers!
