My opinion of pipeline tools is that they should be open and available. The pipeline does not make great work. The people do. I will be open sourcing more of my pipeline dev in the next little while here. We’re talking Qube jobtypes, Shotgun api hooks. Whatever.
I have started to utilize mayapy and pyMel a bit. First order of business was to be able to run VRay on a farm to be able to export vrscene files and render exrs. Supporting render layers was a requirement too.
